Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 79% against the previous year. In value terms, Turkey ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported gravure printing machinery in the Middle East, comprising 71% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Iran ($X), with an 18% share of total imports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a 6.3% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Turkey totaled -5.4%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Iran (+6.5% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (-6.2% per year).
