In value terms, insulating fittings exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +98.9% against 2018 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Turkey represented the main exporting country with an export of about X tons, which finished at 78% of total exports. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X tons), generating a 17% share of total exports. Saudi Arabia (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.

Turkey was also the fastest-growing in terms of the insulating fittings for electrical purposes exports, with a CAGR of +11.8% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Saudi Arabia (+3.2%) and the United Arab Emirates (+2.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. While the share of Turkey (+15 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of the United Arab Emirates (-12.8 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest insulating fittings supplier in the Middle East, comprising 80% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 13% share of total exports.

In Turkey, insulating fittings exports expanded at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+3.4% per year) and Saudi Arabia (-6.2% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 5.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 12%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in the Middle East

After two years of growth, overseas purchases of insulating fittings for electrical purposes decreased by -11.6% to X tons in 2021. Total imports indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 97%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, insulating fittings imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated slight growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +47.8% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when imports increased by 72% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Saudi Arabia was the key importer of insulating fittings for electrical purposes in the Middle East, with the volume of imports accounting for X tons, which was near 64% of total imports in 2021. Turkey (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by the United Arab Emirates (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 20% share of total imports. Israel (X tons), Iran (X tons), Iraq (X tons) and Qatar (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to insulating fittings imports into Saudi Arabia stood at +7.3%. At the same time, Israel (+21.0%), Turkey (+15.8%) and Qatar (+4.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Israel emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +21.0% from 2012-2021. Iraq and the United Arab Emirates experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Iran (-8.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Saudi Arabia (+13 p.p.), Turkey (+7.4 p.p.) and Israel (+2.4 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while the United Arab Emirates and Iran saw its share reduced by -3.9% and -7.1% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Saudi Arabia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported insulating fittings for electrical purposes in the Middle East, comprising 41% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Israel ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Turkey, with a 14% share.

In Saudi Arabia, insulating fittings imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Israel (+24.0% per year) and Turkey (+16.6% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The import price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 42% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible decrease. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
