After three years of decline, the Middle Eastern line telephone market increased by 1.9% to $X in 2022. In general, consumption, however, saw a pronounced contraction. Over the period under review, the market attained the peak level at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, line telephone production shrank slightly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, recorded a pronounced decline. Over the period under review, production reached the peak level at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports in the Middle East
In 2022, the amount of line telephone sets with cordless handsets exported in the Middle East reduced to X units, which is down by -3% compared with the previous year. In general, exports saw a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 131% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, line telephone exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a perceptible curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 185%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
In 2022, Israel (X units) was the key exporter of line telephone sets with cordless handsets, committing 77% of total exports. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X units), generating a 19% share of total exports. Turkey (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Israel was also the fastest-growing in terms of the line telephone sets with cordless handsets exports, with a CAGR of +2.3% from 2012 to 2022. Turkey (-10.4%) and the United Arab Emirates (-20.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, Israel ($X) remains the largest line telephone supplier in the Middle East, comprising 88% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with an 8.4% share of total exports.
In Israel, line telephone exports expanded at an average annual rate of +10.5% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the United Arab Emirates (-20.6% per year) and Turkey (-5.4% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the Middle East stood at $X per unit in 2022, jumping by 36% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a buoyant increase. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per unit), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (+8.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in the Middle East
In 2022, after three years of decline, there was growth in supplies from abroad of line telephone sets with cordless handsets, when their volume increased by 4.3% to X units. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 33%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, line telephone imports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 87%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
The United Arab Emirates represented the largest importer of line telephone sets with cordless handsets in the Middle East, with the volume of imports accounting for X units, which was near 61% of total imports in 2022. Israel (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 12% share, followed by Turkey (9.1%), Iraq (7.2%) and Qatar (5.7%). Oman (X units) held a relatively small share of total imports.
Imports into the United Arab Emirates decreased at an average annual rate of -2.2% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Iraq (+10.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Iraq emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +10.1% from 2012-2022. Qatar experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Israel (-4.2%), Oman (-15.2%) and Turkey (-16.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The United Arab Emirates (+24 p.p.), Iraq (+5.9 p.p.), Qatar (+3.1 p.p.) and Israel (+3.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Oman and Turkey saw its share reduced by -2.7% and -16.8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported line telephone sets with cordless handsets in the Middle East, comprising 53% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Qatar ($X), with a 19% share of total imports. It was followed by Iraq, with a 9.5% share.
In the United Arab Emirates, line telephone imports plunged by an average annual rate of -8.6% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Qatar (+4.0% per year) and Iraq (+10.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in the Middle East amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 7.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a slight setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the import price increased by 47% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2022, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($X per unit), while Turkey ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
