In Turkey, luggage exports expanded at an average annual rate of +8.9% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+3.2% per year) and Kuwait (+15.9% per year).

In 2021, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 2.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the export price increased by 22%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

The United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons) represented the main importers of luggage and handbags in 2021, resulting at near 36% and 26% of total imports, respectively. Iraq (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 7.2% share, followed by Qatar (4.8%) and Kuwait (4.8%). The following importers - Yemen (X tons), Israel (X tons), Oman (X tons), Turkey (X tons), Jordan (X tons) and Bahrain (X tons) - together made up 19% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Yemen (with a CAGR of +14.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported luggage and handbags in the Middle East, comprising 45% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Saudi Arabia ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Kuwait, with an 11% share.

In the United Arab Emirates, luggage imports expanded at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Saudi Arabia (-0.3% per year) and Kuwait (+11.7% per year).
