Over the period under review, consumption recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The following exporters - Israel (X units) and Saudi Arabia (X units) - each reached a 4.3% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to machinery for packing exports from Turkey stood at +9.5%. At the same time, Saudi Arabia (+22.2%), the United Arab Emirates (+14.2%) and Israel (+9.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Saudi Arabia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +22.2% from 2012-2022. The export price in the Middle East stood at $X per unit in 2022, dropping by -2.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a mild downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 11% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per unit), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in the Middle East

In 2022, the amount of machinery for packing or wrapping imported in the Middle East shrank to X units, falling by -3.1% against the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 14% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2021, and then shrank slightly in the following year.

In value terms, machinery for packing imports fell significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a slight descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Turkey (X units), distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X units), Iran (X units), Iraq (X units), Israel (X units) and Qatar (X units) were the largest importers of machinery for packing or wrapping, together committing 86% of total imports.
