There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Jordan ($X per unit), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, the amount of machinery for the preparation or making up of tobacco imported in the Middle East shrank significantly to X units, which is down by -44.8% on 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a pronounced increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 73%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2021, and then shrank markedly in the following year.

In value terms, tobacco making machinery imports fell sharply to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, posted a measured increase. The following importers - Lebanon (X units) and Qatar (X units) - together made up 6.4% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to tobacco making machinery imports into the United Arab Emirates stood at +14.7%. At the same time, Qatar (+36.7%), Lebanon (+19.0%) and Turkey (+2.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Qatar emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +36.7% from 2012-2022. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported machinery for the preparation or making up of tobacco in the Middle East, comprising 76% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with a 9.9% share of total imports. It was followed by Jordan, with a 9.4% share.

In the United Arab Emirates, tobacco making machinery imports increased at an average annual rate of +12.9% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (-4.6% per year) and Jordan (-6.1% per year).
