The United Arab Emirates (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Palestine (X tons). All these countries together took near 11% share of total exports. Oman (X tons) held a relatively small share of total exports.

Exports from Turkey increased at an average annual rate of +7.7% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Palestine (+11.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Palestine emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +11.6% from 2012-2022. The United Arab Emirates and Oman experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Turkey and Palestine increased by +7.7 and +1.9 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest metal office furniture supplier in the Middle East, comprising 75% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Palestine ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a 6.3% share.

Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 8.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 7.5%. Saudi Arabia was the key importer of metal office furniture in the Middle East, with the volume of imports accounting for X tons, which was near 42% of total imports in 2022. In value terms, the largest metal office furniture importing markets in the Middle East were Saudi Arabia ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Israel ($X), together accounting for 67% of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Israel, with a CAGR of +19.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -2.9% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the import price increased by 10%.
