In 2022, imports of metallised yarn and strip in the Middle East was estimated at X tons, with an increase of 13% against the previous year. In general, imports, however, showed a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 69%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, metallised yarn imports expanded notably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a noticeable contraction. Yemen, with a CAGR of +75.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, approximately reflecting the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the import price increased by 39% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while Iran ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
