Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported methanol (methyl alcohol) in the Middle East, comprising 74% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Israel, with a 7% share.
