The import price in the Middle East stood at $X per unit in 2021, with a decrease of -14.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 21%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Iraq ($X per unit), while Iran ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
