Turkey represented the key exporting country with an export of around X tons, which reached 75% of total exports. Iran (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by the United Arab Emirates (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 25% share of total exports.
Exports from Turkey increased at an average annual rate of +30.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Iran (+102.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Iran emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +102.5% from 2012-2021. By contrast, the United Arab Emirates (-14.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Turkey (+59 p.p.) and Iran (+16 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the United Arab Emirates saw its share reduced by -74.4% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
In value terms, the largest oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids supplying countries in the Middle East were Turkey ($X), Iran ($X) and the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a combined 100% share of total exports.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Iran, with a CAGR of +90.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In 2021, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 73% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a deep contraction. Imports in the Middle East
In 2021, oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids imports in the Middle East surged to X tons, picking up by 91% against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, showed a noticeable shrinkage. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a perceptible decline. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Turkey represented the main importing country with an import of around X tons, which finished at 49% of total imports. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) held a 30% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Iran (13%) and Israel (5.7%).

In value terms, Turkey ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported oleic, linoleic or linolenic acids, their salts and esters in the Middle East, comprising 48% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Iran ($X), with a 22% share of total imports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a 21% share.
