The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the export price increased by 36% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, imports of seeds, fruit and spores used for sowing dropped to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a mild contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 107% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Lebanon (X tons) was the main importer of seeds, fruit and spores used for sowing, mixing up 78% of total imports. Saudi Arabia (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 13% share, followed by Israel (4.8%).

The import price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2022, with an increase of 3.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 68% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Lebanon ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
