In value terms, parachute exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports recorded a remarkable increase. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Israel was the key exporting country with an export of around X tons, which resulted at 58% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Turkey (X tons), comprising a 35% share of total exports. The United Arab Emirates (X kg) and Saudi Arabia (X kg) held a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Saudi Arabia (with a CAGR of +38.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Israel ($X) remains the largest parachute supplier in the Middle East, comprising 78% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with a 3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Israel amounted to +8.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Turkey (+29.2% per year) and Saudi Arabia (+49.4% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of -15.3% against the previous year. Export price indicated tangible growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, parachute export price decreased by -19.1% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the export price increased by 52% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in the Middle East
In 2021, supplies from abroad of parachutes and rotochutes was finally on the rise to reach X tons after four years of decline. In general, imports, however, saw a noticeable slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 169%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, parachute imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 118%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
The United Arab Emirates represented the main importer of parachutes and rotochutes in the Middle East, with the volume of imports amounting to X tons, which was approx. 44% of total imports in 2021. Turkey (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Israel (X tons), Iraq (X tons), Iran (X tons) and Oman (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 50% share of total imports. Kuwait (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.
Imports into the United Arab Emirates increased at an average annual rate of +12.4% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Iraq (+42.9%), Oman (+25.8%), Israel (+9.9%) and Kuwait (+7.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Iraq emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +42.9% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Turkey (-4.2%) and Iran (-6.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the United Arab Emirates (+32 p.p.), Israel (+8.8 p.p.), Iraq (+8.7 p.p.), Oman (+5 p.p.) and Kuwait (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Iran (-2 p.p.) and Turkey (-2.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported parachutes and rotochutes in the Middle East, comprising 52% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Israel ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Turkey, with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the United Arab Emirates amounted to +15.0%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Israel (+15.0% per year) and Turkey (+1.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, declining by -17.3% against the previous year. Import price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, parachute import price decreased by -26.8% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 60% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while Kuwait ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
