In value terms, phosphorus, arsenic and selenium exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a abrupt contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 373% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
The United Arab Emirates was the main exporter of phosphorus, arsenic and selenium in the Middle East, with the volume of exports resulting at X tons, which was near 59% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Jordan (X tons), Israel (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons), together creating a 39% share of total exports. Oman (X tons) held a relatively small share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to phosphorus, arsenic and selenium exports from the United Arab Emirates stood at +12.0%. At the same time, Jordan (+58.6%), Israel (+19.0%) and Oman (+11.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. The second position in the ranking was held by Jordan ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Israel, with an 8.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the United Arab Emirates totaled +6.6%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Jordan (+94.6% per year) and Israel (-7.6% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 1.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a noticeable reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 59%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per ton), while Oman ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in the Middle East
In 2021, the amount of phosphorus, arsenic and selenium imported in the Middle East surged to X tons, with an increase of 66% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, phosphorus, arsenic and selenium imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 112% against the previous year.
