In value terms, Turkey ($X), Bahrain ($X) and Oman ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 72% share of total exports. These countries were followed by the United Arab Emirates, Iran and Saudi Arabia, which together accounted for a further 26%.
Among the main exporting countries, Iran, with a CAGR of +66.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 69% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a noticeable decline. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bahrain ($X per ton), while Iran ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bahrain (+24.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in the Middle East
In 2021, supplies from abroad of prefabricated structural components of cement, concrete or artificial stone increased by 2.3% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a mild decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 90% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, cement prefabricated structural components imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 89% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Qatar was the key importer of prefabricated structural components of cement, concrete or artificial stone in the Middle East, with the volume of imports accounting for X tons, which was approx. 43% of total imports in 2021. Kuwait (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an 11% share, followed by the United Arab Emirates (10%), Saudi Arabia (9.2%), Israel (8.5%) and Turkey (5%). Oman (X tons) held a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to cement prefabricated structural components imports into Qatar stood at +34.3%. At the same time, Turkey (+52.4%), the United Arab Emirates (+20.8%), Israel (+15.5%) and Kuwait (+1.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Turkey emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +52.4% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Saudi Arabia (-2.0%) and Oman (-27.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Turkey and Kuwait increased by +40, +8.6, +6.4, +4.9 and +2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Qatar ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported prefabricated structural components of cement, concrete or artificial stone in the Middle East, comprising 44% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with a 10% share.
In Qatar, cement prefabricated structural components imports expanded at an average annual rate of +14.4% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+17.8% per year) and Saudi Arabia (-2.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 32% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a mild downturn. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per ton), while Kuwait ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
