The Middle Eastern room deodorants market declined notably to $X in 2022, which is down by -20.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption, however, showed a strong increase. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons, and then declined significantly in the following year.

In value terms, room deodorants exports shrank notably to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 39% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then fell markedly in the following year.

At the same time, Jordan (+3.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Jordan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +3.7% from 2012-2022. Saudi Arabia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the United Arab Emirates (-6.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Turkey (+6.4 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the United Arab Emirates saw its share reduced by -4.4% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest room deodorants supplier in the Middle East, comprising 81% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with an 8.2% share of total exports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with a 5.4% share.

In Turkey, room deodorants exports increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the United Arab Emirates (-3.5% per year) and Saudi Arabia (+3.3% per year).

In 2022, the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons) represented the key importers of preparations for perfuming or deodorising rooms in the Middle East, together amounting to near 60% of total imports. Iraq (X tons) took the next position in the ranking, followed by Kuwait (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and Israel (X tons). All these countries together took near 25% share of total imports.
