Turkey, with a CAGR of +31.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2022, falling by -48.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 101% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Middle East recorded growth in overseas purchases of prepared skins of birds, which increased by 21% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports saw a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 101% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, prepared birds skin imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports posted a buoyant expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, Turkey (X tons) represented the key importer of prepared skins of birds, making up 63% of total imports. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest prepared birds skin importing markets in the Middle East were Turkey ($X), Israel ($X) and the United Arab Emirates ($X), together comprising 90% of total imports.

Israel, with a CAGR of +37.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
