In value terms, quicklime exports shrank to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 62%. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Oman (X tons) dominates exports structure, together making up 74% of total exports. Turkey (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 10% share, followed by Saudi Arabia (9.9%). Iran (X tons) and Israel (X tons) held a relatively small share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Oman (with a CAGR of +46.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X), Oman ($X) and Turkey ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 81% share of total exports.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Oman, with a CAGR of +46.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 3.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 15%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iran ($X per ton), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, approx. X tons of quicklime were imported in the Middle East; dropping by -5.4% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, imports, however, posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 80% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

Oman represented the main importing country with an import of about X tons, which accounted for 53% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Bahrain (X tons) and Palestine (X tons), together mixing up a 38% share of total imports. The following importers - Jordan (X tons), Israel (X tons), Kuwait (X tons) and Qatar (X tons) - each resulted at an 8.4% share of total imports.

In value terms, the largest quicklime importing markets in the Middle East were Oman ($X), Bahrain ($X) and Palestine ($X), with a combined 87% share of total imports.
Among the main importing countries, Oman, with a CAGR of +53.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
