Over the period under review, consumption continues to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the market remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, radar apparatus production reached $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, saw a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 11%. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X. From 2016 to 2022, production growth remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports in the Middle East
In 2022, shipments abroad of radar apparatus, radio navigational aid apparatus and radio remote control apparatus increased by 43% to X units, rising for the sixth consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, exports recorded prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 87%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, radar apparatus exports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 116% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
Exports by Country
In 2022, Israel (X units) represented the largest exporter of radar apparatus, radio navigational aid apparatus and radio remote control apparatus, mixing up 82% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Turkey (X units), achieving a 14% share of total exports. The United Arab Emirates (X units) held a minor share of total exports.
Israel was also the fastest-growing in terms of the radar apparatus, radio navigational aid apparatus and radio remote control apparatus exports, with a CAGR of +38.0% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Turkey (+4.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, the United Arab Emirates (-4.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Israel (+65 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of the United Arab Emirates (-25.5 p.p.) and Turkey (-32.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Israel ($X) remains the largest radar apparatus supplier in the Middle East, comprising 85% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with a 9.6% share of total exports.
In Israel, radar apparatus exports expanded at an average annual rate of +17.2% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Turkey (+10.8% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+8.6% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per unit, declining by -23.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a perceptible contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 89% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit), while Turkey ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+14.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.
Radar Apparatus Imports
Imports in the Middle East
In 2022, after two years of growth, there was decline in supplies from abroad of radar apparatus, radio navigational aid apparatus and radio remote control apparatus, when their volume decreased by -3.1% to X units. Over the period under review, imports showed a perceptible contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 15%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, radar apparatus imports reduced to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw a slight contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 66%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Turkey was the major importing country with an import of around X units, which resulted at 50% of total imports. The United Arab Emirates (X units) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Israel (X units), Iran (X units) and Kuwait (X units). All these countries together held near 42% share of total imports. The following importers - Oman (X units) and Iraq (X units) - together made up 5.7% of total imports.
Turkey experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of radar apparatus, radio navigational aid apparatus and radio remote control apparatus. At the same time, Israel (+21.5%), Iraq (+15.3%), Kuwait (+11.0%) and Oman (+6.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Israel emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +21.5% from 2012-2022. Iran experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the United Arab Emirates (-7.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Turkey (+6.6 p.p.), Israel (+5.8 p.p.), Kuwait (+3.9 p.p.), Iraq (+1.9 p.p.) and Oman (+1.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while the United Arab Emirates saw its share reduced by -19.5% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Turkey ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Israel ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 70% share of total imports. Iraq, Oman, Iran and Kuwait lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 15%.
Iraq, with a CAGR of +23.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the Middle East stood at $X per unit in 2022, with a decrease of -8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, posted mild growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 69% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Iraq ($X per unit), while Kuwait ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Oman (+8.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
