Overall, imports, however, recorded a strong expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 72% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, railway track fixture imports contracted sharply to $X in 2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Israel and Kuwait increased by +20, +15, +5.3 and +2.7 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
