The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +60.0% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 52%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
Turkey represented the major exporter of sanitary ware and parts of iron or steel in the Middle East, with the volume of exports reaching X tons, which was near 69% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X tons), committing a 25% share of total exports. Syrian Arab Republic (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Turkey was also the fastest-growing in terms of the sanitary ware and parts of iron or steel exports, with a CAGR of +7.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, the United Arab Emirates (+1.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Syrian Arab Republic experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 4.7% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.4%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the export price increased by 23%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while Syrian Arab Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+7.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in the Middle East
In 2021, iron or steel sanitary ware imports in the Middle East surged to X tons, increasing by 15% on the year before. Overall, imports, however, showed a slight reduction. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, iron or steel sanitary ware imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 21%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In 2021, the United Arab Emirates (X tons), distantly followed by Iraq (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons), Israel (X tons), Kuwait (X tons), Turkey (X tons), Jordan (X tons), Qatar (X tons), Oman (X tons) and Iran (X tons) represented the key importers of sanitary ware and parts of iron or steel, together creating 94% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Qatar (with a CAGR of +21.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X), Israel ($X) and Iraq ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 54% of total imports.
Israel, with a CAGR of +17.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 3.5% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.4%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the import price increased by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Iraq ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
