In 2022, Turkey (X units) represented the key exporter of sealed beam lamp units, comprising 52% of total exports. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X units) and Oman (X units), together committing a 42% share of total exports. The following exporters - Israel (X units) and Kuwait (X units) - each resulted at a 5.6% share of total exports.

Turkey was also the fastest-growing in terms of the sealed beam lamp units exports, with a CAGR of +5.4% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Oman (+4.6%) and Israel (+4.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest sealed beam supplier in the Middle East, comprising 55% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 22% share of total exports. It was followed by Israel, with a 6.5% share.

In Turkey, sealed beam exports expanded at an average annual rate of +19.6% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the United Arab Emirates (-4.1% per year) and Israel (+9.3% per year).

The export price in the Middle East stood at $X per unit in 2022, picking up by 51% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a buoyant increase. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Turkey ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Qatar ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together accounting for 79% of total imports. Oman, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Palestine, Yemen, Israel and Jordan lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.

Among the main importing countries, Palestine, with a CAGR of +15.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in the Middle East amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 1.8% against the previous year. Import price indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, sealed beam import price increased by +31.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 29%.
