Seat Market Size in the Middle East

In 2021, the Middle Eastern seat market decreased by -17.7% to $X, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. Overall, consumption, however, continues to indicate slight growth. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, seat production skyrocketed to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, continues to indicate a buoyant increase. In 2021, approx. X tons of seats were exported in the Middle East; picking up by 56% on 2020 figures. Total exports indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +86.3% against 2016 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, seat exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +73.0% against 2015 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Turkey prevails in exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was approx. 82% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Israel (X tons), creating a 9.9% share of total exports. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Turkey increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Israel (+18.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Israel emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +18.9% from 2012-2021. By contrast, the United Arab Emirates (-3.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Israel (+7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of the United Arab Emirates (-3.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest seat supplier in the Middle East, comprising 84% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Israel ($X), with a 4.2% share of total exports.

In Turkey, seat exports expanded at an average annual rate of +6.9% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Israel (+24.2% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+2.3% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -16.6% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.0%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 25%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, the import price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 2.2% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 19% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($X per ton), while Lebanon ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
