From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Saudi Arabia totaled -14.8%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Turkey (+16.4% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (-7.8% per year).

In 2021, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per square meter, which is down by -9.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a deep downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 6.1% against the previous year. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 48% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Turkey was the major importing country with an import of about X square meters, which reached 77% of total imports. Yemen (X square meters) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X square meters).
