Skim Milk Market Size in the Middle East

After two years of growth, the Middle Eastern skim milk market decreased by -3% to $X in 2021. Overall, consumption recorded a perceptible reduction. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X), Kuwait ($X) and Bahrain ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 75% share of total imports.

The United Arab Emirates, with a CAGR of +44.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2021, with a decrease of -9.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the import price increased by 17%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Oman ($X per ton), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iraq (+4.2%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
