In 2021, after three years of decline, there was growth in the Middle Eastern skis market, when its value increased by 0.9% to $X. In general, consumption, however, showed a abrupt decrease. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, consumption remained at a lower figure.

Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Turkey represented the major importing country with an import of around X tons, which accounted for 68% of total imports. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 10% share, followed by Iran (9.1%). Kuwait (X tons), Israel (X tons) and Qatar (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to skis imports into Turkey stood at -1.0%. At the same time, Kuwait (+9.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kuwait emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +9.2% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Israel (-1.5%), Qatar (-5.8%), the United Arab Emirates (-7.7%) and Iran (-9.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, Turkey ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported skis for winter sports in the Middle East, comprising 59% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 19% share of total imports. It was followed by Iran, with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Turkey totaled -1.2%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United Arab Emirates (-2.5% per year) and Iran (-7.3% per year).

The import price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2021, reducing by -17.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the import price increased by 18%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton, and then fell significantly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while Kuwait ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+5.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
