As a result, imports reached the peak of X litres, and then shrank markedly in the following year.

Israel (X litres) took a 12% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Turkey (8.2%) and Qatar (7%). The following importers - Bahrain (X litres) and Oman (X litres) - together made up 5.5% of total imports.

Imports into the United Arab Emirates increased at an average annual rate of +11.2% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Qatar (+21.0%), Israel (+18.8%), Turkey (+15.6%) and Bahrain (+2.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Qatar emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +21.0% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Oman (-1.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The second position in the ranking was held by Israel ($X), with a 10% share of total imports. It was followed by Turkey, with a 7.9% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in the United Arab Emirates amounted to +11.3%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Israel (+21.9% per year) and Turkey (+13.2% per year).
