Super-Heated Water Boiler Market Size in the Middle East

In 2021, the Middle Eastern super-heated water boiler market decreased by -17.3% to $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year rising trend. The total consumption indicated a mild increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, consumption increased by +32.7% against 2018 indices. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2020, and then declined markedly in the following year.

In value terms, super-heated water boiler production dropped to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. The total production indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, production increased by +4.8% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the production volume increased by 40%. As a result, production reached the peak level of $X, and then dropped in the following year.

Exports in the Middle East

After two years of decline, overseas shipments of super-heated water boilers increased by 51% to X tons in 2021. In general, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when exports increased by 92% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, super-heated water boiler exports soared to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The level of export peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Turkey prevails in exports structure, accounting for X tons, which was near 87% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Iran (X tons), constituting a 5.9% share of total exports. Israel (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Turkey experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of super-heated water boilers. At the same time, Israel (+25.6%) and Iran (+13.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Israel emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +25.6% from 2012-2021. By contrast, the United Arab Emirates (-10.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Iran (+4.1 p.p.) and Israel (+3.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Turkey (-1.8 p.p.) and the United Arab Emirates (-3.6 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest super-heated water boiler supplier in the Middle East, comprising 64% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Israel ($X), with a 29% share of total exports. It was followed by Iran, with a 4.8% share.

In Turkey, super-heated water boiler exports shrank by an average annual rate of -1.6% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Israel (+45.1% per year) and Iran (+23.0% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 3.3% against the previous year. Export price indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, super-heated water boiler export price increased by +57.9% against 2016 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 33% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in the Middle East

In 2021, purchases abroad of super-heated water boilers increased by 23% to X tons for the first time since 2016, thus ending a four-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, showed a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 383%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, super-heated water boiler imports contracted to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, faced a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 526%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Turkey represented the largest importer of super-heated water boilers in the Middle East, with the volume of imports reaching X tons, which was approx. 57% of total imports in 2021. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) held a 14% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Iraq (13%). Syrian Arab Republic (X tons), Lebanon (X tons), Jordan (X tons) and Iran (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to super-heated water boiler imports into Turkey stood at +27.0%. At the same time, Jordan (+28.6%), the United Arab Emirates (+21.6%) and Lebanon (+5.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Jordan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +28.6% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Iran (-1.3%), Syrian Arab Republic (-6.7%) and Iraq (-8.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Turkey (+55 p.p.), the United Arab Emirates (+13 p.p.), Lebanon (+2.5 p.p.), Iraq (+2.2 p.p.) and Jordan (+2.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest super-heated water boiler importing markets in the Middle East were Turkey ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Iraq ($X), with a combined 77% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Syrian Arab Republic, Lebanon, Jordan and Iran, which together accounted for a further 10%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Jordan, with a CAGR of +25.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2021, reducing by -21% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a abrupt setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
