In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest frozen sweet corn supplier in the Middle East, comprising 78% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 9.2% share of total exports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with a 5.9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Turkey stood at +39.9%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+16.4% per year) and Saudi Arabia (+1.6% per year).

The export price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2021, shrinking by -7.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a mild slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the export price increased by 19% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per ton), while Iran ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Frozen sweet corn imports soared to X tons in 2021, with an increase of 18% compared with 2020 figures. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Qatar (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
