In value terms, wood kitchenware and tableware exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports enjoyed a resilient expansion. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Turkey prevails in exports structure, recording X tons, which was near 76% of total exports in 2021. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 10% share, followed by Saudi Arabia (5%). Oman (X tons) and Iran (X tons) took a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to wood kitchenware and tableware exports from Turkey stood at +17.6%. At the same time, Iran (+71.7%), Oman (+51.9%) and Saudi Arabia (+36.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Iran emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +71.7% from 2012-2021. By contrast, the United Arab Emirates (-2.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Iran increased by +24, +4.1, +4 and +1.6 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest wood kitchenware and tableware supplier in the Middle East, comprising 79% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with an 8.3% share of total exports. It was followed by Oman, with a 4.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Turkey stood at +20.7%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+8.4% per year) and Oman (+55.7% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, growing by 9.2% against the previous year. Export price indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, wood kitchenware and tableware export price decreased by -19.1% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the export price increased by 27% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in the Middle East
After three years of decline, overseas purchases of tableware and kitchenware of wood increased by 21% to X tons in 2021. Total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 33%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country
The purchases of the four major importers of tableware and kitchenware of wood, namely Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Israel and the United Arab Emirates, represented more than two-thirds of total import. The following importers - Iraq (X tons), Kuwait (X tons), Qatar (X tons), Oman (X tons), Iran (X tons) and Palestine (X tons) - together made up 18% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Iraq (with a CAGR of +25.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest wood kitchenware and tableware importing markets in the Middle East were Saudi Arabia ($X), Israel ($X) and the United Arab Emirates ($X), together comprising 65% of total imports. These countries were followed by Turkey, Kuwait, Qatar, Iraq, Oman, Palestine and Iran, which together accounted for a further 32%.
Among the main importing countries, Iraq, with a CAGR of +24.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, surging by 22% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.9%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kuwait ($X per ton), while Iran ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
