In terms of the main exporting countries, Jordan, with a CAGR of +26.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In 2022, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of -5.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the export price increased by 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Jordan ($X per ton), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a drastic downturn. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, textile tubing imports shrank modestly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a perceptible slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 13%. At the same time, Oman (+11.3%), Israel (+8.5%), Turkey (+7.0%) and Kuwait (+5.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Oman emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +11.3% from 2012-2022. Iraq experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Iran (-6.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Israel, Turkey, Iraq, Oman and Kuwait increased by +13, +5.2, +4, +2.8 and +2.2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X), Israel ($X) and Turkey ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 72% share of total imports. Iran, Iraq, Kuwait and Oman lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 22%.

Oman, with a CAGR of +11.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -6.5% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.3%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the import price increased by 22% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while Iraq ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
