In 2022, the Middle Eastern tomato puree market decreased by -21.2% to $X, falling for the third consecutive year after three years of growth. In general, consumption showed a perceptible decline. Turkey prevails in exports structure, amounting to X tons, which was approx. 74% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Iran (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons), together comprising a 15% share of total exports. Oman (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Israel (X tons) held a relatively small share of total exports.

Exports from Turkey increased at an average annual rate of +13.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Iran (+20.3%), the United Arab Emirates (+5.1%) and Oman (+3.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Iran emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +20.3% from 2012-2022. Saudi Arabia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Israel (-6.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Turkey (+17 p.p.) and Iran (+5.3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Oman (-3.2 p.p.), Saudi Arabia (-3.9 p.p.), the United Arab Emirates (-4.3 p.p.) and Israel (-7.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest tomato puree supplier in the Middle East, comprising 82% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Iran ($X), with a 4.5% share of total exports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a 4.4% share.

In Turkey, tomato puree exports increased at an average annual rate of +14.4% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Iran (+15.4% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+7.6% per year).

In 2022, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 40% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern.
