In 2022, Saudi Arabia (X tons) was the main exporter of uncoated felt paper and paperboard, achieving 82% of total exports. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X tons), comprising an 11% share of total exports. Jordan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Saudi Arabia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the uncoated felt paper and paperboard exports, with a CAGR of +9.0% from 2012 to 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 265%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, uncoated felt paper imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a slight increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 286%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

The United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Bahrain (X tons) were the major importers of uncoated felt paper and paperboard in 2022, amounting to near 36% and 25% of total imports, respectively. It was distantly followed by Palestine (X tons), Yemen (X tons) and Oman (X tons), together making up a 27% share of total imports. Jordan (X tons) and Kuwait (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Bahrain (with a CAGR of +90.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest uncoated felt paper importing markets in the Middle East were Palestine ($X), Bahrain ($X) and the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a combined 72% share of total imports.
