Turkey was the largest exporter of unsaturated polyesters in primary forms in the Middle East, with the volume of exports recording X tons, which was approx. 72% of total exports in 2021. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Saudi Arabia (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 25% share of total exports. Iran (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.

Turkey was also the fastest-growing in terms of the unsaturated polyesters in primary forms exports, with a CAGR of +24.5% from 2012 to 2021. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
