The Middle Eastern winche and capstan market declined to $X in 2021, which is down by -11% against the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest winche and capstan supplier in the Middle East, comprising 74% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 9.7% share of total exports. It was followed by Oman, with a 7.8% share.

In Turkey, winche and capstan exports expanded at an average annual rate of +22.1% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the United Arab Emirates (-9.1% per year) and Oman (+27.9% per year).

In 2021, approx. X units of winches and capstans were imported in the Middle East; picking up by 14% against the year before. Total imports indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +49.6% against 2019 indices. Kuwait, with a CAGR of +17.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
