Turkey was the key exporter of windows, french windows and their frames of wood in the Middle East, with the volume of exports resulting at X tons, which was approx. 65% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Lebanon (X tons), together constituting a 31% share of total exports. Israel (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.

While the share of Lebanon (+15 p.p.) and Israel (+2.3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Turkey (-17.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest wooden window supplier in the Middle East, comprising 61% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 21% share of total exports. It was followed by Lebanon, with a 16% share.
In Turkey, wooden window exports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the United Arab Emirates (+15.0% per year) and Lebanon (+61.3% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per ton, surging by 11% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the export price increased by 19%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while Israel ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+12.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in the Middle East
In 2021, purchases abroad of windows, french windows and their frames of wood increased by 33% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, showed a perceptible slump. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, wooden window imports expanded markedly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a perceptible setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 22%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Israel represented the major importing country with an import of around X tons, which reached 40% of total imports. Qatar (X tons) held a 25% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Turkey (14%) and Saudi Arabia (4.9%). The following importers - the United Arab Emirates (X tons), Iran (X tons) and Iraq (X tons) - together made up 11% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Qatar (with a CAGR of +16.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
In value terms, the largest wooden window importing markets in the Middle East were Israel ($X), Qatar ($X) and Turkey ($X), with a combined 80% share of total imports.
Among the main importing countries, Qatar, with a CAGR of +17.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the Middle East stood at $X per ton in 2021, with a decrease of -18.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 21%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
