The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 684%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Spain (X tons), Mauritania (X tons) and Portugal (X tons) were the main destinations of caustic soda exports from Morocco, together accounting for 87% of total exports. Sudan lagged somewhat behind, comprising a further 10%.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
