Overall, imports, however, recorded a moderate expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 359% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, battered fish fillet imports dropped dramatically to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, posted strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 196% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of battered fish fillet to Morocco, with a 36% share of total imports. Moreover, battered fish fillet imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Vietnam (X tons), threefold.
