Turkey (X tons) was the main destination for seafood meals and pellets exports from Morocco, with a 37% share of total exports. Moreover, seafood meals and pellets exports to Turkey exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Greece (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Spain (X tons), with a 5.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Turkey totaled +25.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Greece (+32.4% per year) and Spain (+38.3% per year).
In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the key foreign market for flours, meals and pellets of fish or of crustaceans and molluscs exports from Morocco, comprising 36% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Greece ($X), with a 10% share of total exports. It was followed by Spain, with a 5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Turkey totaled +24.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Greece (+32.3% per year) and Spain (+37.1% per year).

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Norway ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Morocco
In 2021, overseas purchases of flours, meals and pellets of fish or of crustaceans and molluscs were finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, imports showed significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 365% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, seafood meals and pellets imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 320% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Turkey (X tons) constituted the largest seafood meals and pellets supplier to Morocco, with a 86% share of total imports. Moreover, seafood meals and pellets imports from Turkey exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Spain (X tons), sixfold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Turkey amounted to +32.2%.
In value terms, Turkey ($X) constituted the largest supplier of flours, meals and pellets of fish or of crustaceans and molluscs to Morocco, comprising 73% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Spain ($X), with a 26% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Turkey amounted to +22.9%.
Import Prices by Country
