Imports of oil and water paints and varnishes into Morocco declined rapidly to X tons in 2021, which is down by -51.6% against 2020. In general, imports showed a pronounced contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 148% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, imports of oil and water paints and varnishes declined notably to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate slight growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 77%. Spain (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of imports of oil and water paints and varnishes to Morocco, together accounting for 72% of total imports. These countries were followed by Turkey, Poland, France, the United Arab Emirates, China and Portugal, which together accounted for a further 24%.
