The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, organo-inorganic compounds exports soared to $X in 2021. In general, exports enjoyed a noticeable expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 1,097%. The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

Egypt (X tons) was the main destination for organo-inorganic compounds exports from Morocco, with a 59% share of total exports. Moreover, organo-inorganic compounds exports to Egypt exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Algeria (X tons), twofold. From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mauritania (+37.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Morocco
In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of organo-inorganic compounds (excluding organo-sulphur compounds), when their volume decreased by -27% to X tons. Overall, total imports indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -16.8% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 68% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, organo-inorganic compounds imports declined notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +14.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 61%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.
Imports by Country
Canada (X tons), Italy (X tons) and India (X tons) were the main suppliers of organo-inorganic compounds imports to Morocco, together accounting for 43% of total imports. These countries were followed by Spain, Egypt, the UK, Germany, China and the Czech Republic, which together accounted for a further 21%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Spain (with a CAGR of +40.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest organo-inorganic compounds suppliers to Morocco were Canada ($X), Italy ($X) and India ($X), with a combined 44% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Spain, the UK, Germany, the Czech Republic, Egypt and China, which together accounted for a further 17%.
Spain, with a CAGR of +39.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average organo-inorganic compounds import price amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -2.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed modest growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 51% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while the price for Egypt ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+6.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
