In value terms, exports of seeds, fruit and spores used for sowing skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports enjoyed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 80,946%. The exports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

France (X tons) was the main destination for exports of seeds, fruit and spores used for sowing from Morocco, accounting for a 89% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of seeds, fruit and spores used for sowing to France exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Belgium (X kg), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Egypt (X kg), with a 3.9% share.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a deep setback. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Libya (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Morocco
For the third year in a row, Morocco recorded decline in supplies from abroad of seeds, fruit and spores used for sowing, which decreased by -4.4% to X tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 208%. Over the period under review, imports of reached the peak figure at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, imports of seeds, fruit and spores used for sowing expanded sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +11.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 91%. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, India (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of seed, fruit and spore used for sowing to Morocco, accounting for a 61% share of total imports. Moreover, imports of seeds, fruit and spores used for sowing from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, France (X tons), threefold. Spain (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from India stood at +49.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (+8.2% per year) and Spain (+0.4% per year).
In value terms, France ($X), India ($X) and Spain ($X) appeared to be the largest seed, fruit and spore used for sowing suppliers to Morocco, together comprising 70% of total imports.
