Imports into Morocco

In 2021, purchases abroad of semiconductor devices was finally on the rise to reach X units for the first time since 2016, thus ending a four-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, faced a significant decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 203%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, semiconductor device imports expanded significantly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a dramatic decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 186%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Spain (X units) constituted the largest semiconductor device supplier to Morocco, with a 69% share of total imports. Moreover, semiconductor device imports from Spain exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Malaysia (X units), threefold.
