Exports by Country
India (X tons) was the main destination for sulphur exports from Morocco, accounting for a 94% share of total exports. Moreover, sulphur exports to India exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Tunisia (X tons), more than tenfold.

In general, export price indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, sulphur export price decreased by -0.9% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 20%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mauritania (+17.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Morocco
In 2022, purchases abroad of sulphur decreased by -9.9% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after seven years of growth. Overall, total imports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -13.4% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The United Arab Emirates (X tons), Kazakhstan (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons) were the main suppliers of sulphur imports to Morocco, together comprising 75% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Kazakhstan (with a CAGR of +17.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest sulphur suppliers to Morocco were the United Arab Emirates ($X), Saudi Arabia ($X) and Kazakhstan ($X), together comprising 78% of total imports.
