Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 1,045% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X square meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, composition leather imports dropped significantly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, posted a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 784%. Imports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Italy (X square meters), Vietnam (X square meters) and South Korea (X square meters) were the main suppliers of composition leather imports to Myanmar, together accounting for 66% of total imports.
