Moreover, computing machinery exports to Hong Kong SAR exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United States (X tons), more than tenfold. Singapore (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 3.1% share.

In 2021, the amount of computing machinery and parts and accessories thereof imported into Myanmar plummeted to X tons, with a decrease of -35.3% compared with the year before. Overall, imports saw a mild shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 151% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, computing machinery imports fell remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a mild descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of computing machinery to Myanmar, with a 62% share of total imports. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 209%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per ton), while the price for South Korea ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
