The United States (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Japan (X tons) were the main destinations of toy exports from Myanmar, with a combined 80% share of total exports. China and India lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 17%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by China (with a CAGR of +71.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+15.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Myanmar
In 2021, approx. X tons of dolls and toys were imported into Myanmar; which is down by -15.9% on the previous year. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 102%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, toy imports declined sharply to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 51%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, China (X tons) was the main supplier of toy to Myanmar, accounting for a 97% share of total imports. It was followed by Thailand (X tons), with a 2.7% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China stood at +18.0%.
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of dolls and toys to Myanmar, comprising 95% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Thailand ($X), with a 3.6% share of total imports.

The average toy import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, reducing by -5.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 4.1%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per ton), while the price for China amounted to $X per ton.
