Moreover, metal window and door exports to Indonesia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Thailand (X tons), sevenfold. Cambodia (X kg) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 1.9% share.

In value terms, Indonesia ($X) remains the key foreign market for metal windows and doors exports from Myanmar, comprising 96% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Thailand ($X), with a 1.9% share of total exports. It was followed by China, with a 1.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Indonesia amounted to +4.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Thailand (-27.7% per year) and China (-42.6% per year).

In 2021, the average metal window and door export price amounted to $X per ton, reducing by -4.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a noticeable slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 32%. Imports into Myanmar
After four years of growth, supplies from abroad of metal windows and doors decreased by -24.8% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 110% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020, and then reduced markedly in the following year.
In value terms, metal window and door imports fell to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 245%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest metal window and door supplier to Myanmar, accounting for a 80% share of total imports. Moreover, metal window and door imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Thailand (X tons), more than tenfold. Vietnam (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 4.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to +19.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Thailand (+26.5% per year) and Vietnam (+20.3% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of metal windows and doors to Myanmar, comprising 60% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Vietnam ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China totaled +17.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Vietnam (+38.2% per year) and Thailand (+33.8% per year).

In general, import price indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last nine years.
