The exports peaked at X units in 2020, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, sleeping bag exports dropped slightly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 3,957%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2020, and then shrank in the following year.
Exports by Country
Germany (X units), the United States (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main destinations of sleeping bag exports from Myanmar, together comprising 65% of total exports. These countries were followed by Australia, Norway, Switzerland, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Thailand, Russia, Finland, Japan and the Netherlands, which together accounted for a further 27%.
From 2014 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Norway (with a CAGR of +331.6%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), the United States ($X) and Italy ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for sleeping bag exported from Myanmar worldwide, with a combined 64% share of total exports. Thailand, Australia, Switzerland, Norway, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Russia, Finland, Japan and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 28%.
Among the main countries of destination, Norway, with a CAGR of +350.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average sleeping bag export price amounted to $X per unit, growing by 9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 15%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Japan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2014 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+37.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Myanmar
In 2021, sleeping bag imports into Myanmar expanded markedly to X units, surging by 11% on 2020. Overall, imports, however, recorded a deep contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 1,459% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, sleeping bag imports fell significantly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 4,163%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Thailand (X units) was the main supplier of sleeping bag to Myanmar, with a 93% share of total imports. Moreover, sleeping bag imports from Thailand exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X units), more than tenfold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Thailand amounted to +1.0%.
In value terms, Thailand ($X) constituted the largest supplier of sleeping bags to Myanmar, comprising 88% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 12% share of total imports.

In 2021, the average sleeping bag import price amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -36.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a deep reduction.
