In value terms, exports of wood chips, parts, residues, pellets and other agglomerates skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports posted a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 132% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Thailand (X cubic meters) was the main destination for exports of wood chips, parts, residues, pellets and other agglomerates from Myanmar, with a 68% share of total exports. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 257%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X cubic meters. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, imports of wood chips, parts, residues, pellets and other agglomerates skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a slight descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 387% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Malaysia (X cubic meters) constituted the largest supplier of wood chips, parts, residues, pellets and other agglomerates to Myanmar, with a 75% share of total imports. Moreover, imports of wood chips, parts, residues, pellets and other agglomerates from Malaysia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X cubic meters), fivefold. Thailand (X cubic meters) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 5.9% share.

In value terms, Malaysia ($X), Thailand ($X) and China ($X) were the largest wood chips, parts, residues, pellets and other agglomerates suppliers to Myanmar, with a combined 64% share of total imports.
In terms of the main suppliers, Thailand, with a CAGR of +11.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
Import Prices by Country
The average import price for wood chips, parts, residues, pellets and other agglomerates stood at $X per cubic meter in 2021, rising by 9.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 36%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per cubic meter in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per cubic meter), while the price for Malaysia ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+135.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
